I'm so pround of being part of this wonderful team to promote wellness and healing in the woodland!

Our initiative is a 10-week programme designed to support women who have received a cancer diagnosis. Led by two experienced nature-connection practitioners and me - a Macmillan counsellor - the programme offers a nurturing space where 12 participants gather weekly for 3 hours in a woodland setting at Herstmonceux Castle. Through a blend of woodland crafts, communal cooking on the fire, sharing food and stories, mindfulness activities, and nature walks, women are provided with opportunities to relax, feel nourished, and build confidence. The project has a holistic approach and aims to foster supportive relationships among participants, offering them a chance to share their experiences and find solace in community. By integrating a therapeutic nature-based recovery approach, the initiative seeks to promote the mental well-being and overall health of women affected by cancer. This project aims to make a meaningful difference by providing a lifeline of support, resilience, and hope to those navigating the challenges of cancer, offering them a pathway towards healing and renewal.

We are starting the first programme the 12th of September 2024. The project will run 3 programmes per year (avoiding the coldest months).
